Gavin

This relationship shit was becoming more of a headache than I was willing to deal with. I ain’t never had to put up with all this shit to hold a woman’s interest. Typically all I had to do to get a girl to stop being mad at me, back when I cared, was say some nice words, maybe offer up a nice gesture or two and shit would be over with. Whatever frivolous thing we were beefing over would be done and shit would be great. But not with DJ.

In DJ I have a girl who is complicated. A girl who doesn’t care who I’m supposed to be, she was a girl who made it relentlessly clear that she is not going to put up with any of my fuck shit. I have a girl that I want to grow to love and be with but right now, I can’t tell her about all the crazy shit that goes on with me and by boys. If I did, she’d leave the shit would ruin what little interest she does have in me. But then again, I am pretty much ruining that by myself. I’m fucking up every time I open my mouth but I still want to try. I still want her.

“Everybody out,” Deuce repeated, this time with more bass in his voice. “Everybody get the fuck out.”

“What?” Ace snapped. “Nigga this ain’t even yo office space for you to be trying to trip on a nigga.”

Deuce cut his eyes at him as if he had just stepped on his brand new sneakers. “I need to talk to my mans for a minute if you don’t mind,” he remarked, stepping into Ace’s face.

Of course he didn’t back down, in fact he leapt to his feet and was immediately nose-to-nose with his challenger. “What the fuck happens if I do mind my nigga?”

“Then that means we have a muthafuckin’ problem,” my cousin declared while they simultaneously reached along the waistline of their pants and drew their weapons.

The pair just stood there, both of them with their guns pointed right at the other’s forehead. Neither flinched. They stood frozen, like soldiers protecting Buckingham Palace, searching each other’s eyes for any signs of fear. There was none.

I merely watched the entire scene from my oversized office chair,
